What to Expect:

Anytime the LifeLock Identity Alert™ system detects your information in applications for many forms of credit and/or services, we will send you alerts by email (if provided) and postal mail asking you to verify the authenticity of the application. It is important that you follow all directions provided in these alerts to help us maintain your identity security.

To ensure you receive alerts in a timely manner, please provide LifeLock with a current email, phone number, and home address. Keep your contact information up-to-date by visiting your myLifeLock account management page on www.lifelock.com.

Please note: In urgent cases we will also contact you by phone with instructions to verify the application immediately by calling 1-800-LIFELOCK.

 

Maintaining
Fraud Alerts:

While fraud alerts are limited to only alerting you to thefts when a credit check is required, they can provide another layer of protection - especially if you have already been a victim of identity theft.

If you have a good faith suspicion that you have been, or are about to become a victim of identity theft, and you wish to maintain fraud alerts on your own, you can do so for free by contacting one of the three major credit bureaus.

Remember, fraud alerts expire and must be reset every 90 days. To have LifeLock send you a 90-Day Fraud Alert Reminder via email visit the 'Manage Account' tab on your myLifeLock account management page at www.lifelock.com. Once there, select the 'Communication Preferences' link on the left.

We may call to notify you of an alert and ask you to authenticate yourself by confirming your date of birth or the last four digits of your Social Security number, for example.
